SCI
or Spinal Cord Injury, whether complete or partial,
often result in paraplegia or quadriplegia. This
page contains many resources for my clients and
others seeking information on SCI. Use this site
to learn and gather information about SCI, but please,
if you or someone you know and love has suffered
a spinal injury, you need to consult an attorney
today. You can call my office and speak to me directly.
The consultation is absolutely free, there is no
obligation for the call and you may gain a tremendous
amount of information from the conversation.
The legal process for recovering personal injury
damages for persons who have SCI involves not only
recovering the cost of existing medical treatment
and pain and suffering, but also recovery of future
medical expenses, lost earning capacity, loss of
family and social relations, future psychological
and/or psychiatric care, and many other complicated
forms of damages.
To establish these damages, and prove them in a
court of law, the injured party needs to retain a
variety of doctors from many different disciplines
of medicine, as well as nurses, vocational experts,
economists, and other expert witnesses. The cost of
retaining these experts can be thousands of dollars
per expert. My office advances these costs for my
clients. My office has an extensive network of
physicians and experts ready to help my clients immediately.
I personally guide my clients and their families
through this difficult process of healing and recovering
compensation. I ensure that my clients are receiving
the highest quality medical care, regardless of
their personal financial state, and regardless of
whether they have medical insurance.
If you or loved one has suffered a SCI, you are
not alone. According to the National Association
of Spinal Cord Injuries Association,
- 250,000 - 400,000 individuals in the United
States have spinal cord injuries.
- Approximately 11,000 people sustain new spinal
cord injuries each year.
- 60 percent of individuals with spinal cord injuries
30 years old or younger
- The majority of people who sustain spinal cord
injuries are men.
NASCIA statistics show most of the spinal cord
injuries are a result of car accidents, sports accidents,
falls and industrial mishaps.
Additionally, victims of a spinal cord injury are much more
susceptible to further health complications as a result of their disability.
Nutrition, skin management, urinary tract infections, bowel issues, sexual
function, reflexes, blood pressure, temperature, and bone problems are all
exacerbated by a spinal cord injury. Extensive modifications to one's lifestyle
and home must often be made after a spinal cord injury, and these changes can be
emotional and expensive. I have extensive experience in obtaining compensation
for the psychological and financial expenses that are incurred after one is
diagnosed with a spinal cord injury.
